Management

Why do it?

PNE’s NVQ Management programme is designed to equip people with the essential skills every modern manager needs to be successful in today’s workplace. What’s more, it’s accredited by the Chartered Management Institute (CMI), one of the country’s leading professional management bodies, so it has excellent credibility in the world of management. The NVQ is available at levels 3, 4 and 5, so whether you’re a first line manager, are responsible for your organisation’s human resources, are a senior manager, or even run your own business, there’s training and a qualification that will make a difference to you and your organisation.

The NVQ Levels

Level 2 NVQ in Team Leading

This qualification has been designed for people who lead a team and are responsible for the team’s performance.  Although no previous formal qualifications are required to embark on the NVQ, participants will need to demonstrate team leading experience.

Level 3 NVQ in Management

Is for first line managers who have responsibility for supervising staff and allocating work, but whose decision making responsibilities fall within defined limits. It provides managers with the opportunity to develop their own performance to become more effective within their role and to progress their career.  Level 3 candidates tend to work closely with their line managers.

Level 4 NVQ in Management

Is for middle managers with responsibility for planning and delivering key areas of work. They have a relatively wide span of control and decision making powers. They are responsible for allocating resources and are accountable for performance and results. Level 4 candidates are usually managed at a distance.

Level 5 NVQ in Management

Is for senior managers with a high degree of autonomy for deploying resources and achieving strategic goals. They will demonstrate organisational leadership through their approach to critical decision making and their impact on organisational performance. Level 5 candidates tend to be the lead person in their organisation or lead a significant operating unit.

Because each management NVQ is divided into units, PNE can help managers to complete a qualification which precisely meets their own requirements and those of their employer.

OSCAR

The qualifications will be assessed through our new online assessment system, OSCAR (Online Support for Candidates with Assessment Requirements).  Assessment is carried out on the candidate’s work based evidence, and supported through professional discussion which cuts down on mountains of paperwork!
